It’s you and me kiddo….here’s to new adventures, more days to learn, grow, love, laugh, and play. I’m not certain what 2015 will bring our way but I know we’ll take it all in together and I will cherish each moment by your side as the blessing you are. You are sound asleep in our gently lit living room courtesy of the Christmas tree you decorated so perfectly this year. The sound of fireworks are already echoing outside, as the fine residents of West Mayfair anticipate the ball that will soon drop. 2014 is on its way out. I don’t know if I want to slam the door on it or linger in it just a tad bit longer to hold onto the last year we were able to physically hold on tight to your Daddy. I know in my heart you will remember his love. I hope you will always know just how hard he fought to stay here with you, his Mr. Ben Jammins. God gave you the best Daddy ever. I witnessed it first hand and I can’t wait to tell you all about how much he loves you. In the meantime know that whenever a good song comes on in the jeep and I bop my head along I’m thinking of him and how he’d hum along while drumming on the steering wheel. Know that when I make you breakfast and decorate your plate extra special that I’m doing so because that’s how your Daddy served up all the meals he ever made for you. Know that when I’m being super cautious about how you’re doing something it’s because I can hear him clearly in my head telling me to “take care of his boy”. Please also know that there may be times in our life together that I may lose my patience and may blow things out of proportion. Why am I telling you that? Because I want you to know that your Dad would be on your side in those moments and that even more so right now as he read this he’d turn his head down ever so slightly, raise his eyebrows, press his lips together and call me out on what I just wrote as a huge understatement. You see, he knew me so well. You will too, as we continue to learn each other everyday. My wish for you as we start this new year together is that your happy days will always outnumber the grumpy ones, and that you always feel the love that surrounds you. My goal is to help make that happen. I may falter at times but it is my promise to you that you will always see me get back up. You are my heart and my life. I will love you all day, everyday, no matter what. Always. Happy New Year my little love!
